The Client:
Roper Rhodes

What was the requirement?

Roper Rhodes Ltd is one of the UK’s leading independent suppliers of bathroom furniture and products. Founded in 1979, the family operated business has over 30 years of experience in creating beautiful bathrooms, with one of the widest collections of bathroom products, from cutting-edge contemporary to traditional classics.

Why was CML approached?

Roper Rhodes first approached CML four years ago in 2012, as the established brand was looking for a freight forwarder with the facilities to ship two containers from China to its base in the spa city of Bath, in the UK.

CML’s strong freight forwarding network provided a cost effective and dependable solution to the independent supplier’s requirements. Roper Rhodes was so pleased with the service CML delivered, that it increased the volume of shipping containers for freight forwarding to 35 in the first year and to 200 within two years of working with CML.

The supply chain and logistics provider continued to execute a high standard of service and as a result, Roper Rhodes approached CML once again with the proposal to fulfil part of its warehousing and reworking requirements. It was seeking a partner with extensive resources and experience and CML was able to deliver a cost effective, time saving and reliable solution, and was selected over other 3PL providers on that basis.

What did CML do?

CML delivered a fully inclusive freight forwarding and warehousing service for Roper Rhodes, looking after the products from the start to the finish of the project. This involves shipping products from China to its warehouse in Magna Park, Lutterworth, before allocating and reworking the goods and storing them in their warehouse ready for distribution.

Thanks to CML’s excellent location in the centre of the UK, it is able to provide a time efficient and cost effective service with excellent national and international transport links.

What was the outcome?

The working partnership between Roper Rhodes and CML has successfully grown from an initial freight forwarding contract of two shipping containers, to a fully-fledged, reliable and cost effective service CML provides for Roper Rhodes’ warehousing, reworking and freight forwarding requirements.
