A Freaky Fundraising Event
Pumpkin carving competition, hot dog and cake sale raises over £180 for Rainbows Hospice.
It’s that time of the year again when everyone’s attention turns to trick or treating and as fundraising is such an integral part of CML’s company ethos, we again held a pumpkin carving competition that gave everyone a fang-tastic opportunity to show off their carving skills.
The ghoulish designs were brought in on Friday 27th October to be judged, where a £1 entry fee was charged and prizes ranging from a day’s holiday, a £10 Love to Shop voucher to a bottle of wine were on offer. Our pumpkin carving winners were: Rachael Cunningham who won first prize, Lolita Radvilavica who took second prize and Pat Brittain, Dee Dwyer, Dovile Turenkiene, Sonia Da Silva, Val Huddlestone and Kerry Delaney who were all awarded third prize as the entries were so good.
As everyone loves a few wicked treats we also had a hot dog and cake sale to ensure as much money as possible was raised for our charity of the year, Rainbows Hospice, and we’re pleased to say that a hauntingly good £182.50 was raised on the day, taking our grand total raised to £42,623.90.
Karen Kelly, who is part of the team that oversees CML’s charitable work commented, “We have had a frightfully delightful day. Thank you to everyone who showed true spirit by making cake donations and taking time out of their day to come and buy a cake or two. Congratulations to the winners of the pumpkin carving competition and to all those who entered - the standard was scarily spooktacular. ”
Kate Golding, Head of Organisational Giving, added, “The team at CML are always looking for fun ideas to give their support to Rainbows and none better than having some fun in the office during Halloween. The imagination and generosity from all the team is greatly appreciated by us all here at Rainbows.”
