The charity provides care
and support to children with life-limiting illnesses and their families. To
help raise funds and hopefully smash last year’s target, CML hatched a plan to hold
an egg-citing Easter raffle on Thursday 18th April.
CML received some
fantastic support from a number of its customers and suppliers including Skye
Direct, Jury’s Inn, Perkbox, Crown Lift Trucks, Bjorn Borg, Corbin & King,
Hacche Retail and Juvenate who donated some cracking prizes ranging from a
virtual reality headset, overnight stay and meal at Jury’s Inn, 2 x £50 Amazon
vouchers, a tracksuit, a biscuit hamper, 4 x book hampers as well as three
months’ gym membership for Juvenate Hinckley.
The raffle also had some
fantastic gifts that were generously donated by CML and its employees including
an Xbox One S, 2 x Easter egg hampers, 2 x Love to shop vouchers, a food
hamper, a toiletries hamper as well as numerous Easter eggs, food and alcohol
prizes. Rainbows themselves donated a hamper, 2 x £25 Next vouchers and, last
but by no means least, a huge cuddly donkey called Dylan.
CML took this opportunity
to thank all of its employees for their hard work and dedication by giving each
employee an Easter egg. The event was a huge success with £955.30 raised on the
day for CML’s good cause, taking the grand total raised for Rainbows since 2007
to a tremendous £51,105.30
Letisha Harbidge, HR
Advisor and part of the Charity and Events Team at CML, said, “CML is delighted to have received some
really fantastic prizes for this raffle from not only CML’s customers and
suppliers but also our employees. I’d like to thank everyone for getting
involved to raise as much money as possible for this well-deserved cause. It
is our pleasure that we are able to continue supporting Rainbows and the
fantastic work they do.”
Emily Wright, Corporate
Partnerships Fundraiser at Rainbows, added, “Thank you to everyone who
supported this fantastic event, either by buying a ticket, or donating prizes! We’re
so grateful to CML for their continued support – we are almost entirely reliant
on donations, and without them we simply would not be able to keep on bringing
care and happiness to our children and their families across the East Midlands.
A huge well done to all for this wonderful total!”
