Fundraising ‘eggs-travaganza’ for charity
Easter raffle raises £1030 for Rainbows Hospice.
As charity fundraising is part of the culture at CML, we decided to hatch a plan to raise funds for our nominated charity, Rainbows Children’s Hospice. Our aim being to raise money for 10 x Hydrotherapy Pool sessions at a total cost of £350.
To help us on our way to raising this amount we decided to hold an Easter raffle and also a ‘Name The Rabbit’ competition – on Thursday 29th March, both being £1 to enter.
For the Easter raffle there were prizes ranging from a number of different hampers including three Easter egg ones, a toiletries one and a food and cocktail one, a bottle of Jack Daniels, eight bottles of wine, a Ted Baker gift set and Dinner for Two at Café Rouge as well as a number of different vouchers including a £20 Next one, a £20 Amazon one, two £20 Love to Shop ones and a £50 Amazon voucher. These were all generously donated by CML employees or CML with the exception of the bottle of Jack Daniels which was donated by Mach Recruitment, the £50 Amazon voucher which was donated by Perkbox and the food hamper which was donated by Rainbows themselves.
As part of CML’s dedication to living their values – quality, trust, innovation and commitment - and to thank all of CML’s employees for their continued hard work and support, CML also gave each employee an Easter egg.
The day was egg-ceptional with £1030 raised for our good cause, which greatly exceeded our original target of £350, and takes our grand total raised to a fantastic £44,245.90.
The additional money raised will also be going to Rainbows and is equivalent to purchasing 28 x Hydrotherapy Pool sessions – 18 more than we originally intended.
Karen Kelly, who organised the Easter event, commented, “Being able to play a part, no matter how large or small, to help make a difference to the lives of children and young people who have life limiting illnesses and their families is something we are proud to be involved in.’
Emily Wright, Corporate Partnerships Fundraiser at Rainbows, added, “Unfortunately, only one in ten of the children and young people that Rainbows supports can actually eat chocolate Easter eggs. By using your amazing Easter fundraiser to purchase our ‘Gifts that Give’ instead, you will be helping us to fund some of our specialist therapy sessions for our children and young people. Chocolate only lasts a moment, but the memories that we can help them make with their families last a lifetime. I would like to say a huge thank you to everyone at CML who takes part – you’re all eggs-traordinary!”
